Andre, born in Lachute, Quebec, developed a strong cowboy identity from his upbringing on a farm. His work ethic and\u00a0 led him to master various skills, including horse training, rodeo, logging, log cabin building and blacksmithing. His artistic talent emerged early, with a penchant for Western-themed drawings. He expanded his artistic horizons with jewelry and leatherwork. In 1970, he met his wife, Susan, in Sudbury, Ontario, and they have five children. In 1986, the Patry family opened AP Western Guest Ranch in British Columbia, blending their love for the “old” Western way of life with modern amenities, where Andre remains a multi-talented attraction for guests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This ranch began as a homestead and was originally purchased from the Crown in May, 1904. The land was owned by a family for three generations before being sold to a Doctor from Vancouver. Since that time the property changed ownership several times with the land boundary growing and being reduced with each owner. The buildings were sadly neglected over the subsequent years until 1986, when the Patry family “lost their hearts” to the property. They promptly purchased the land in hopes of preserving the “old” and adding amenities, developing it into the AP Western Guest Ranch. Over the next 35 years, Andre and his family have built most structures on the land tenderly hand-crafting it inch by inch. Today, the AP Ranch stands as a true testament to the enduring spirit of the early settlers and offers visitors a chance to experience the true beauty of British Columbia.<\/p>\n

WOW, WHAT AN INCREDIBLE PLACE<\/p>\n
“So amazing, we changed our plans and stayed an extra night. Wow Mark has an incredible piece of British Columbia magic there. We stayed in the Lumberjack cabin (true log house) during winter with heaps of snow, it was spectacular! Mark had heaps of wood for us, plenty of blankets and towels. The cabin even has central heating and a soaker bathtub! The kitchen is really well equipped with full fridge and gas stove\/oven. Everything our family of four needed. But its hard to put into words the feeling this place has, its truly magical. Everyone was off technology and enjoying walks around the ranch with their amazing farm dogs, in particular Rosie, a Border Collie, who slept outside our cabin, we think to protect us. “The Raven’s Nest was a great cabin for a peaceful getaway! <\/span>The directions provided and the communication with Mark were excellent. The kitchen was fully stocked with all your cooking needs including pots, pans, and even a crockpot! The cabin was clean, cozy, and larger in person. Our dog loved being able to run around in the yard and go for walks around the property.
